In 2016, Italian Ivan Origone reached 254.958 km/h on the Chabrières slope.

Vars offers a variety of activities beyond skiing. Twice a year, the Outdoormix Festival takes place, combining sports and parties. The Winter edition features extreme sports like snow kayaking and acrobatic paragliding. The Spring edition includes activities such as BMX, climbing, kayaking, kite surfing, and many other outdoor activities. The festival, both in winter and summer, is punctuated by concerts and lively parties.

The Forêt Blanche Ski Area

Vars is located within the vast Forêt Blanche ski area, which it shares with Risoul ski resort. The area is extensive, offering 185 kilometers of slopes, catering to all preferences! Among the 116 possible descents, you'll find challenging black runs with bumps and beautiful blue runs winding through larch forests. Everyone can enjoy skiing in their own way.

The facilities are top-notch with Varspark, a snowpark that delights freestyle enthusiasts, a slalom course, boardercross tracks, and a free beginner area, perfect for mastering your skiing skills.
