The resort gained its reputation as a sports destination, notably hosting the men's slalom event during the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, won by Norwegian Finn Christian Jagge. Ski Area

Les Menuires is interconnected with Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Méribel slopes, Val Thorens, and Courchevel districts through the largest ski area in the world: the "3 Vallées." The Les Menuires sector features a total of 76 slopes ranging from 1,100 meters to 3,200 meters in altitude.

Accessible by car, Pralognan la Vanoise area is about thirty kilometers away.
