The town of Courmayeur, located in the heart of the Aosta Valley in Italy, is an alpine commune with just under 3,000 residents year-round. Situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, it is one of the highest communes in Europe in terms of altitude.

The Courmayeur Ski Area
The Courmayeur ski area features around 100 kilometers of slopes for all levels. It is located on a ridge, with Plan Chécrouit on one side, offering wide-open slopes with few forests, and the Entrèves side, providing forested trails that are less sunny and consequently less crowded by tourists.
To reach the top of the ski area, you can take one of two cable cars, both built in the 1960s and not necessarily serving the slopes. For freeride and freestyle enthusiasts, the cable car to Crête d’Alp drops skiers in an environment requiring off-piste navigation before returning to the resort.
